Valentine's Day and Chinese New Year

This year, both Valentine's Day and Chinese New Year happen to be in the same day.

February 14, 2010,is the clash between Tiger vs Cupid and this only happens to chinese people.
* Make sure you place importance to both family members and the love ones.*

As for me,i have a whole full weeks of boths dinners and visiting good friends.Chinese new year day 1 aka valentine day is gonna spend with good friends and exchanging valentine day gift!

My first chinese new year reunion dinner started tonight,it was full of friends, and it began with Lo Hei. It’s a tradition for families to toss the salad while calling out Lo Hei!, which means to whip up or toss up good fortune. It’s believed that the higher you toss the salad, the greater your luck and prosperity in the New Year!

Arranged on a large serving plate, the colourful array of ingredients include raw fish, which is traditionally ikan parang or "mackerel", shredded green and white radish drained of liquid, shredded carrots adding a bright orange tinge to the dish, pickled ginger, crushed nuts and pomelo. The ingredients are topped with various condiments including deep-fried flour crisps, crushed peanuts, sesame seeds, cinnamon, pepper and other spices. All at the table would then jointly toss the salad with a generous portion of plum sauce and cooking oil to add sweetness and taste.
